Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Frosty Wren Studios (“Frosty Wren”, “we”) handles personal data across our website (frostywren.com) and our games, including Defense of Kyrath.
Short version: Frosty Wren does not operate any servers that collect personal data from players or visitors. We do not run analytics on our website. We do not transmit telemetry from our games. The only data flows that touch your information are operated by third parties we rely on (Steam, Discord, Cloudflare, our email provider) under their own privacy policies, and are listed below for full transparency.
1. The Frosty Wren website (frostywren.com)
The website is a static site — HTML, CSS, images, and small first-party JavaScript files served directly from our hosting provider. We do not:
- Set cookies.
- Run analytics, tag managers, advertising pixels, session replay, or fingerprinting scripts.
- Embed third-party tracking widgets or social-media share buttons that report back to those platforms.
- Collect form submissions of any kind. Contact links open your own email client.
Hosting (Cloudflare Pages)
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As part of normal content delivery and protection against abuse, Cloudflare processes request metadata such as IP addresses, request headers, and timestamps at the network edge. This processing happens at the platform level and is governed by Cloudflare’s privacy policy, not ours. Frosty Wren does not receive or store these access logs.
2. Defense of Kyrath (and future Frosty Wren games)
Our games do not include any Frosty Wren-operated telemetry, analytics, or crash reporting that transmits data to us. Specifically, Defense of Kyrath:
- Does not send any data to Frosty Wren servers (we do not operate any).
- Does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- Does not collect, transmit, or process personal information independently of the platforms listed below.
Local data the game writes to your own machine — settings, save files, log files, and a small marker file used to detect whether the previous session exited cleanly — stays on your machine in your operating system’s standard application-data folder. This data is not transmitted by the game.
Steam (Valve Corporation)
Defense of Kyrath is distributed on Steam and uses Steam’s standard platform features:
- Steam Achievements and Stats: the game uses Steamworks APIs to record achievement unlocks and gameplay stats associated with your Steam account.
- Steam Cloud saves: the game enables Steam Cloud for save data. Your save files are synchronized between your devices through Valve’s infrastructure under your Steam account.
All of this data is processed by Valve under the Steam Privacy Policy and the Steam Subscriber Agreement. Frosty Wren does not have access to your Steam account information, your Steam ID, or your save data through these systems beyond the aggregated, anonymized statistics that Valve makes available to all developers in the Steamworks dashboard.
Discord (bug reports and community)
The in-game “Report a Bug / Feedback” button opens our community Discord server in your default browser using your operating system’s URL handler. The game does not transmit any data when you click this button. If you choose to join our Discord server and post a bug report, your interaction there is governed by Discord’s privacy policy. Anything you choose to share in those messages (such as the contents of a save file or a log file you attach) becomes visible to other Discord users in those channels and to Frosty Wren as the server owner.
3. Email contact
If you email us at info@frostywren.com, your message and email address are processed by our email provider for the purpose of replying to you. We retain correspondence as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request and to keep a record of business communications. We do not add you to any mailing list and we do not share your email with third parties.
4. Children
Frosty Wren’s products are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@frostywren.com and we will take appropriate action.
5. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws)
Because Frosty Wren does not collect personal data through its website or games, the practical scope of individual rights against Frosty Wren is limited to email correspondence you have initiated with us. You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what email correspondence we hold from you.
- Correct inaccurate information in that correspondence.
- Delete that correspondence.
For data held by Steam, Discord, Cloudflare, or our email provider, please contact those companies directly — their privacy policies linked above describe their respective processes.

6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our products evolve — for example, if we add a feature that involves new third-party services. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be noted on the website and, where appropriate, on our community Discord.
