The Forgewrights
Also known as: The Tinker-Guild, Engine-Lords, Flame-Keepers
mortaldefender
The tinker-guild of Kyrath's central keep — engineers and flame-masters who answer warband with cannon and cinder-spout.
Origins
Founded upon the day the first stone wall was raised, the Forgewrights began as simple smiths and have since grown into Kyrath's engine-lords. Bellows and brazier are their sacrament; a good blueprint is held in higher regard than a fat purse.
Culture
A guild-hall people of oil-stained aprons and loud argument. Apprentices toil under masters who recall every misfire of the past half-century. The Forgewrights keep no standing army — they are summoned to the walls by royal writ, and return to their workshops when the dust hath settled.
Combat Style
Slow to fire, vast in consequence. A bombard shell scatters whole ranks; a pyre-spout dissuades any foe from bunching close. Forgewright wardens are prized upon open ground where the foe hath nowhere to hide.
Relations
Close kin of the Hearthguard — they dwell in the same keep and settle their differences at the same mess table. The Sylvan wrinkle their nose at the smoke; the McClouds trust the work, if not always the workers.
Sigil
A smith's hammer crossed with a mortar, above a squat anvil.
