The Hedge Witches

Origins

The Hedge Witches are the realm's own dark cousins — women of the pastoral lands who took up nightshade and hex rather than loom and plough. Tradition holds that the first coven was sworn against a particularly cruel lord, though the lord hath been long forgotten while the covens remain.

Culture

Covens hold to the old paths — hedgerows, bog-islands, the unvisited barrows. Each hag apprentices one chosen girl-child; the chosen inherits her mentor's cauldron, her grievances, and her stubbornness in equal measure.

Combat Style

Poison over force. A cursed warden fires slower until the affliction is lifted. Coven Elders possess ruinous reach; a Hex Crone holds the grudge of five generations in a single spit.

Relations

The Hedge Witches claim sisterhood with nothing. The other foes give them wide berth, even in shared ranks.
