The Bouldersworn
Also known as: Crag-Kin, Cairn-Sworn, The Mountain Clans
monstrousfoe
Mountain-kin and crag-clans — hobgoblin skirmishers, champion warriors, and ogre-warlords from the steppes and highlands.
Origins
The Bouldersworn hold that their kind were born of the stones themselves, hewn from crag-peak and river-fall in the long ages before Kyrath was even a rumor. Whether or not the tale is true, they do indeed take to rock and ridge as though to a homeland, and bury their fallen in cairns three spans tall.
Culture
A loose kinship of clans, each sworn to a particular crag, ridge, or river-mouth. The ogre-warlords stand chief by old compact; hobgoblins serve as swift raiders; the champions are the clan's sworn-arm, raised from childhood to break the foe's line. A Bouldersworn oath is binding unto death, and their oaths against Kyrath are old indeed.
Combat Style
Three shapes in one army: hobgoblins strike and flee, trading substance for speed; champions slam through shield-walls, crippling wardens with a single blow; ogre-warlords anchor the charge, walking fortresses of ruin whose steps stagger the keep wall itself.
Relations
The Barbarian clans are their rivals, not their brothers. The Ashborn are ill-met kin — acknowledged, but not embraced. The Vermin and Hedge Witches are tolerated beasts of the march, not peers.
Sigil
A triple cairn upon a broken ridge.
