Arid grassland with sparse scrub and rocky outcrops. Wind sweeps long across the flats; rain comes in anger or not at all. The Highland McClouds know this country well — as do the Barbarian clans who roam its far reaches, and the Bouldersworn who claim its outermost crags.
Cultural Notes
Open ground offers no hiding place. The steppes test both wardens and foes, and favor neither. The McClouds pitch their camps upon the flats and dare the foe to come meet them; the clans of the Barbarian and the Bouldersworn oblige with grim regularity.
